Up to now, I’ve been using Zooomr for photo hosting. I had swapped to Zooomr from flickr for a few reasons and now I find myself thinking of going back.
Why? Well there have been interruptions in service over the last 2 releases and the current service interuption has caused photo’s to not appear (they still exist, just not displayed). The latest issues are from the “Mark IV” release which has been ongoing since mid January.
Now, some of the older photo’s don’t appear but the newer ones do. I’m confused as to why.
To quote from the lastest info on the move “We got upload and storage back online today; Unfortunately, we weren’t able to activate all photos, but you can bet that we are working hard on moving the remaining hardware from the US to Japan. We will be able to restore all photos within the month.”
A month? I work in IT, we keep systems up 24×7 and when something stops working (collectively my group has had 3 emergency data restores this year so far. One was hardware, the other 2 were user issues. The hardware one was up in 3 days, the user issues were done in a few hours. A month doesn’t cut it.
So I’m left with a decision. I’ll probably decide in a day or two.
