Leave a CommentI promised and failed to deliver. I still don’t know what I’m doing on this page anymore. My life is different than it was 2 years ago when I used to write about odd things in code and how cool this or that blog engine was.
So what have I been doing? Well I took a week off work, it was nice. Spent a lot of time with the kids and that was cool. Tomorrow starts the work dredge again. Hard to get excited for it anymore. Everything I do there in the end seems to be wasted effort. If I could find different I would, but you all know how the economy is.
My father in law dropped a Acer One netbook in my lap, and I’ve played with it for a while now. Its nice and small. Ubuntu has a wicked interface for netbooks, well worth a try. I dropped windows 7 on it today. its also very speedy but without the bells and whistles that folks seem to expect from a ui anymore. Shrug. What do you want from a 10 inch screen.
I’ve seen a couple of movies. Angels and Demons gets a thumbs up and the new Star Trek gets a double thumbs up. The local theature runs new movies in the summer for 4 dollars a seat. Maybe I’ll write about movies, eh.
Lets see what else happend in the last few months. I’ve had two deaths in the family. One was my father at the end of March and my uncle died just recently. Cancer killed them both. I think the chemo did dad in truthfully, not that the prognosis was good at any rate.
The family is otherwise good though, so I can’t complain to much. Other people have it worse.
So there, you got a few paragraphs out of me, can’t say when it will happen again. I really would like to do more photography but I seem to run short in time anymore. I need to figure out the balance.
I’m thinking of writing software for the iPhone again. If I do, I’ll blab about it maybe, no promises now.
Now since I wrote you something to read, can you drop me a line. let me know who reads the drivel i deem worthy to spit out.

Leave a CommentI’ve been thinking of either killing this site, or reworking it to something new. I think we’ll rework it somehow. Not sure how or what it will look like but I’ll get working on it.
At the moment, I’m doingloading the apple sdk for the iphone/itouch (I have the touch and love the damn thing) so you might see something on that. I’m also downloading Windows 7 RC, which will get loaded up in VMWare Fusion today or tomorrow, so I’ll probably have something to say about that.
Enough, go play in the tubes now.

- I’ve got kids, that one is easy to see.
- I write code for a living and have done so for the last 20 some years, so that makes me moderatly qualified to complain about software and the act of writing it.
- I work for a fairly well known hospital system in Cleveland writing said software, I won’t tell you which, but I’m sure a quick google search of hospital systems in the area will give you a solid guess as to which one.
- I like photography though its fallen off of late, just haven’t gone and done it. Lazy I suppose.
- I enjoy World of Warcraft a good bit, its a fun diversion and its replaced television for me. I also enjoy Xbox quite a bit. You could say I’m a gamer with the means to buy the games he wants to play.
- I think diet coke is one of the finest beverages on the planet, though a nice wine or maybe something a little stronger can be suitable from time to time.
- I think Ohio has crappy winters, it lasts way to long, and I’m getting tired of being cold. I don’t see myself retiring here.
- Netflix is a great way to rent movies
- I’m excited that a new Wallace and Grommet is coming out this year. I love this stuff.
- I think, a a gamer with young children, its my job to make sure they only see whats appropriate to thier age. No GTA 4 when they’re awake, etc. Warcraft is ok, I let them run around the starter area, thats about it.
- This blog in one form or another has been around for about 5 years. Its run Radio, .Text, Community Server and now WordPress. It all works well, just find the one you like and use it. Its not hard.
I can’t think of any other useless stuff to type at the moment, see ya.

No, I’m not dead yet
Life has been shall we say complex and time consuming. I’ve been thinking of posting more so maybe it will happen. Maybe it will get me off my butt to take more pictures too.
I’ve been thinking of moving the blog to a host for wordpress not off wordpress.org like it is now, but I need to learn more as to what that will buy me for my money.

Remember Remember the first of November?
Hello all my assorted readers. There are still a reasonable amount of you that hang around waiting on my writing pearls. Well they are really more like swine, but hey, its me.
Here’s the update on the happenings of the family and all that:
The kids got a good size haul from Halloween. They went dressed as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
They also won the costume contest at pre school. They would like to go again and don’t quite grasp that it will be next year before they can.
We’ve got the house almost weather tight, there are one or two windows left unsealed simply because we want the fresh air when we can get it. We already had snow here, it didn’t last more than half a day, but, snow is snow. Bah. From what I’ve seen, VT has a lot more than we got here in OH, so I really shouldn’t complain.
My big post about free time since I quit playing wow, yeah, forget that, its like crack. I went for about 3 weeks and a buddy dragged me back in. I didn’t put up much of a fight I admit.
I had been in a fairly good raiding guild but they simply got huge. I felt like a number almost, not their fault, mine mostly. So I left and went back to hang out with some friends, who have for the most part never seen the inside of raid instances. They decided to try kara and well they’re fine, just maybe not the best place for me.
Its hard to find a good fit sometimes, just like life.
Once again, I will try to post more, but those of you who hang out know its a hit or miss thing.
It was a pretty day despite the clouds
Saturday I spent a chunk of the day hanging out with the kids outside. Amy eventually thought it was to cold, but Meghan wanted to play, this is the result:
Of course it wasn’t without a mishap, turns out something in the leaves makes Meghan’s sinuses got crazy. She still wanted to play, but with the sneezing/coughing fit that erupted, I had to call it a day.

Happy Fall everyone, fall officially hit this weekend here on the north coast. We had a good hard frost Saturday morning and today we went apple picking. Good times all around.
